How to Choose the Right Motorhome for You
If you’re looking to buy a top-tier motorhome, you’ve come to the right place! While there is a great selection of RVs to choose from, sometimes the amount of options can feel overwhelming. There are multiple factors to keep in mind that will help your shopping experience go much smoother - starting with what class of RV you want.
Here are some key points to keep in mind, when choosing your motorhome!
Choosing Class A Motorhomes
Class A motorhomes are the largest class of RV. Class A has the size and profile of a commercial bus, providing the luxury of a spacious interior. These RVs also have very large engines, which means they have enough power to tow a vehicle, when necessary. Additionally, many modern Class A’s have slide-outs, allowing the trailer to even further expand
However, it’s important to keep in mind that Class A motorhomes are especially difficult to navigate through tight spaces. Because of their size, Class A’s can also have some structural problems if they’re involved in collisions, so careful driving is a must. Finally, this class of motorhome can be significantly more expensive than the others, depending on how well-appointed you want your RV to be.
Choosing Class B Motorhomes
Compared to the size of Class A’s, Class B motorhomes are very small. Built with the profile of an oversized minivan, these vehicles are easy to operate for almost any driver. Class B’s are affordable, maneuverable, and very versatile. Additionally, when they’re not in use they still fit conveniently in any standard driveway.
But because they are much smaller, Class B’s can only comfortably accommodate a few passengers. Class B motorhomes also have less storage space, which means they’re better suited to short trips. It’s also important to consider that Class B’s have smaller motors, meaning you most likely will not be able to tow a second vehicle. Even though this may appear a bit inconvenient, keep in mind that a Class B motorhome is usually just as easy to drive as any car you would choose to tow along.
Choosing Class C Motorhomes
Class C motorhomes strike a great balance between the size of a Class A and the maneuverability of a Class B. They are built with a profile similar to a moving van and come in a broad range of sizes. This allows them to have a diverse selection of floor plans, with newer Class C’s incorporating expansive slide-outs. Many Class C motorhomes are also able to tow a vehicle.
While Class C’s have many of the advantages of larger Class A motorhomes, they do bring several disadvantages to consider. For example, large Class C’s require a significant amount of storage space, when they are not in use. They’re also often too big to navigate around town. If you have to make any quick errands, you may feel the need to tow another vehicle.
