The history of Palomino dates back to the late 1960s, when Vern Landey, a tent trailer distributor, took it upon himself to enhance the quality and performance of recreational vehicles of that time. He saw that there was plenty of scope for improvement in the RVs available on the market, and he believed that he could work on possible solutions to boost the safety and comfort of travelers.

Vern Landey started building lightweight RVs that are easy to handle on the road and focused on designs that help maximize the interior space. Most of all, he tried to control the overall cost of these campers so that families could find an affordable way to plan vacations with their loved ones.

The Expansion

The production of Palomino RVs began at a sizeable facility in Minnesota. However, the popularity of these vehicles led the makers to upgrade to a bigger place in the early 1970s. After a massive fire damaged the main production facility in 1992, the company built a huge 75,000-square-foot manufacturing unit in 1998.

Later, in 2002, renowned RV manufacturer Forest River purchased Palomino. They used the latest designs and technological advances to build quality recreational vehicles for modern-day travelers. They retained the original high standard in quality and performance of these campers and used contemporary materials to create Palomino RVs that novice and seasoned travelers can enjoy owning.
